The first full week of the 2017-18 school year was packed with excitement, learning and adventure. Grade 8 embarked on the annual Farm School trip (pictured above) and Grade 7 ventured to Camp Caribou. Look for a recap of their trips in Brookwood Buzz next week! Ms. Alexander and Mr. Polletta's Kindergarten classes released butterflies to begin their migration to Mexico as part of Monarch Watch, a cooperative network of students, teachers, volunteers and researchers dedicated to the study of the Monarch butterflies. In 5B, students started their first group book, Morning Girl, setting the stage for two significant themes in Grade 5 - the movement of peoples and perspective. Parents and caregivers gathered on the Courtyard after drop-off on Thursday to enjoy coffee and conversation, hosted by the Parents' Association. Grupo Fantasia (pictured below) performed music from the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Cuba in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Thank you to the Parents’ Association for bringing them to campus this week - what a wonderful School Meeting!
