This Week at Brookwood

Today is the fall equinox, which marks the first day of autumn here in New England. As we officially transition from summer to fall, Brookwood students and faculty alike are settling into daily routines and diving deeper into projects and curriculum on campus, and beyond. The Hulbert Outdoor Center staff, along with Brookwood's Team Six Advisors, led 6th graders through a 3 day program in Vermont designed to foster personal growth, self-reliance, confidence, cooperation and a sense of community. Read the full Brookwood Buzz blog post that summarizes the 6th, 7th and 8th grade class trips. New York Times best-selling author Jarrett J. Krosoczka visited with PreK through 5th grade students on Tuesday, sharing his life story that inspired the Lunch Lady series and many of his other popular titles. School Meeting featured solos by Caroline M. and Ellie R., a Farm School video courtesy of 8th graders and Ms. Shea, and an intro to Math Mysteries. The Parents' Association gathered on Thursday morning for the first meeting of the school year, which included a Brookwood Basics overview. We will host another Brookwood Basics session on the evening of October 4, preceding the Back-to-School Night program.
